What are the 2027 dates and operating times

What time does flying start on each day?
This changes daily, but flying normally starts early afternoon. A Full flying program is available in our official programme, which can be purchased onsite from one of our authorised resellers, or you can pre-order a copy from our website by clicking on this link. You will then be able to collect this on arrival at one of our official car parks, or from our onsite retail shop.
Which aircraft are appearing this year?
This year sees a range of aircraft, and displays planned, and these are subject to change. Our current line-up can be viewed by clicking here.
Where’s the best place to view the flying?
This year’s airshow, as in previous years is based around Paignton Seafront. Therefore, the best location for viewing the air displays is on either South Green, Middle Green, North Green, or Preston Green.
Where is the central flight line?
The flight line, or datum, is Paignton Pier with the flight line being across the Bay from right to left.

Can I bring my Dog/Guide dogs to the Airshow?
Yes, as long as they are on a lead you can bring guide dogs to the event. Do remember the Aircraft, and other elements of the show can be incredibly loud and this may affect your pets. If in doubt, please do not bring them with you to the event.
Are the air displays suitable for young children?
The Airshow is a great family event, but for some younger children the Aircraft can be rather loud. If you are worried, it’s an idea to bring ear defenders which can be purchase online from several retailers..
Is there a lost and found procedure for children?
Yes, You can pick up a wristband from volunteers, local police on site or at the production /lost person’s zone. Should you have a missing or found child, please report immediately to Event Staff, Police or the lost/found point. Stay safe. Take pictures of what your children are wearing on that day, have a meeting point in mind and report any missing children to the police immediately.
Can I fly my drone at the Air Festival?
No. Drones are banned at the event. Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are prohibited and not to be flown at the event site, please do not bring any UAS or UAV’s to the festival. It is against the law for any of these craft to be flown within the Restricted Airspace that is established at the Airshow to protect participating aircraft and display teams. Organisers are under strict rules to cancel the flying display programme if drones are flying in the dedicated approved air space. Please be aware drone operators will be prosecuted.
Will there be a Pilot Meet & Greet this year?
No, not at this year’s Airshow.
Will there be an official livestream or Air Fest TV this year?

Are there any road closures I need to be aware of?
Due to the nature of the event there are many road closures in place during the operating hours of the Airshow. Local residents will be informed by letter, and when confirmed all road closures will be published on the website and via our social media channels.

How do I get to the Airshow?

Is there disabled parking and viewing?

Are mobility scooters available to rent at the event?
No, there is sadly no provision to rent these at the event. However they are available locally by visiting Shopmobility Paignton who are located near to the Vue Cinema. Parking;
Where’s the best place to park?

How much does the Parking cost?
Premium Parking: £35 includes programme and badge
Zone 1 Parking (20-minute walk): £25 includes programme and badge
Car Park Opening Times
Our Official Car Parks (Colin Road, Hyde Road, Victoria and Quay West) copen on Friday 29th May from 1pm at close at 11.30pm. On Saturday and Sunday our car parks will be available from 9.00am and close at 11.30pm each night. These car parks are only available to customers who have pre booked English Riviera Airshow parking.
I will be attending in a height restricted vehicle.
Please be aware at Hyde Road and Victoria Car Park there is a height restriction for cars: 1.98 meters (6’6).
Is there a Park and Ride Service?
No, there is no Park and Ride Service for this year’s event, but you can Park & Stride from Quaywest Carpark in Parking Zone 1. This walk will take around 15-20 minutes. You can purchase your car parking tickets ahead of the event by clicking on this link
Can I cycle?
You can cycle to the event and use the cycle parking located throughout the area.
Can I ride my e-scooter?
Private e-scooters are not permitted
Accommodation;

Where are the organisers located on site?
You can find the Production Office and Visitor Centre in the bottom right-hand corner of North Green, next to Pier Approach Road. You can also visit our onsite shop for assistance.
Is there hospitality on site this year?
There is no corporate hospitality at this year’s event.
Is there public Wifi available on site?
No
Cash points
The nearest ATM is on Pier Approach, the nearest other cash points are located in Paignton town centre. Some vendors will take card transactions.
Are there public charging points on site for Mobile phones?
No
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes, you can but please use the bins provided for rubbish and leave nothing behind. There is also a host of providers located on site. Please do NOT bring a BBQ. Open fires, fire pits and fire bowls are also not permitted at any time on our beaches, promenades, green spaces or cliff tops, which provide a home to many of the UK’s rare species of reptiles, birds and insects. Their dry nature means they are vulnerable and sparks from open fires can cause horrific damage. Please do not drop cigarette butts. The chemicals leach into land and waterways, plus they can be a danger to wildlife
We will be sitting on the beach, are we allowed to bring a single-ring gas picnic stove to use?
No, this is strictly not allowed.
What time are the bars open?
Bars are open until 10pm
Can I still go into the sea?
Yes, but there is limited bathing. Please be aware of any restrictions or guidance in place.
Will Paignton Pier be open?
Yes
Will there be any shade from the sun?
Due to the nature of the site there is limited overhead cover so we would advise to ensure take the appropriate actions to protect yourself.
Is there water available on site?
Yes, you can bring a refillable thermos cup or water bottle and get free drinking water at our water refill stations. If you don’t have one or forget to bring one, they are also available from our onsite shop.
How can I protect myself, and others from the Summer Weather?
Take care in and out of the sun. Seek shade where you can, apply sunscreen, wear a hat and light, loose cotton clothes, drink plenty of fluids and avoid excess alcohol. If you or others feel unwell, get dizzy, feel weak, anxious or have intense thirst, move to a cool place, rehydrate and cool your body down. If you need to purchase sunscreen this can be purchased from our onsite shop.
Can we rent Deckchairs on site?

Is there First Aid on site?
There is. First Aiders will be found in several locations, walking around the site, and their dedicated Centre located to the right of the Production Office.
How loud and busy is the Airshow?
The key event site can become incredibly busy with thousands of people attending. The Air Displays do include hi-speed military aircraft and can be very loud. We advise people who may be affected by this, but may still wish to attend, to head towards the Preston Sands end of the site which will be quieter.
Toilets and Washrooms;
Are there toilets and washroom facilities on site?
Yes, these can be found in several locations on site.
Are there Disabled toilets and viewing area’s available

Baby Changing Facilities
There are permanent toilet facilities* including accessible disabled toilets on site in the following locations:
- At the back of the Vue Cinema on the Esplanade
- At the end of Pier Approach
- On the South side of Preston Green, next to the Redcliffe Hotel
In addition to the permanent toilets, there will be a large number of temporary toilet units at various locations across the event site.
*please note permanent toilet facilities incur a 30p charge
Daytime Entertainment;
What entertainment is going to be available during the daytime?
During the day there is a range of entertainment provided for all ages. This includes re-enactments, interactive activities for Children, walking entertainers, and live stage acts. There will also be a Children’s Tent located on Middle Green hosted by Children’s Week.
Is the entertainment free?
In the main the majority of entertainment is free, but there are a handful of attractions that may require additional payment.
Will there be a fair on site, and will this be free?
There will be a Fair on site, operated by Anderton and Rowlands Funfair LTD. The rides are not free and are pay by ride.
What time does the Stage Programme start?
During the daytime, this runs around the Flying Programme but will approximately start at 10am on Saturday and Sunday.
Evening Entertainment;
What entertainment is going to be available during the evening?
Our main stage will be in operation on all three nights. Closing at 10pm on Friday, 10.30pm on Saturday and 8pm on Sunday. This is alongside other attractions including the fair and onsite simulator.
Are there fireworks and what time are they?
Fireworks are planned for Friday night at 10.00pm, conditions permitting. The best place to view this will be from the main event site.
Will there be Food and Drink available during the evening?
Yes, most traders will remain open for the duration of the event.
Is the evening entertainment suitable for Children?
All of the entertainment planned for our evening activities is family focussed. However there may be flashing lights and loud noises which may not be suitable for some children.
Maritime and Crowd Safety;
We will be watching the air displays from our boat, are there designated areas or restrictions?

How are both crowd and event safety managed?
As with all major events, we have an extensive and robust event plan, covering all elements of operations. We work with stakeholders, Devon and Cornwall Police and other emergency services to provide the best possible experience for people attending the Airshow. As always, we remind everybody to be vigilant and to report anything suspicious.
What should I do if I see something suspicious?
If you see something suspicious find a Security Officer, Police officer or member of the Events Team, remember ‘See it, Say it, Sorted’.
Are there stewards on site if I need assistance?
Yes, stewards are available in hi-vis vests and team members are in either red or blue Event T-Shirts.
What are you doing to keep visitors safe?
There are the security measures you can see and of course the ones you can’t. We monitor the whole site each and every day and our staff are trained to ensure all festival goers have a safe, secure and happy time. We work very closely with Devon and Cornwall Police and teams of onsite security and stewards to ensure our security procedures are up to date and following best practice.
