Lighting of The Queen’s Jubilee Beacons
To open the celebrations, Thursday 2 June will see the lighting of The Queen’s Jubilee Beacon at Corbyn Head at 9.45pm.
As part of a series of over 1,500 beacons across the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, the beacon will be lit by the Civic Mayor accompanied by a Glenfiddich champion piper playing ‘Dui Regnare.’ This music was composed by Major Stuart Lidell, as a tribute to Her Majesty The Queen for her Platinum Jubilee. This will be followed by a bugler.
The beacons at Daddyhole and Shoalstone will also be lit by Coastwatch and Brixham Town Council
A map of viewing points and timings will be provided.
See more information about the project here: The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Beacons 2022
